Netflix’s Tiger King was a smash hit a couple years ago, as a documentary that seemed like it had to have been made up.

Only it wasn’t.
And now the star of that show, known as Joe Exotic, wants to be set free from his own cage. He’s asking President Joe Biden for a little help.
Exotic made his request after Biden made a controversial trade to free WNBA player Brittany Griner from Russian prison. Exotic took notice and is asking the president to get him out of jail in the United States.
This one wouldn’t require a swap — but rather, just a pardon.

“The whole Brittney Griner and Trevor Reed prisoner swap is a slap in every American’s face that is wrongfully detained in the American Federal Prison System, including myself,” Exotic said, via TMZ.
Exotic went on to call out Tiger King co-star Carole Baskin in the process.
Anyway, Griner was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison after it was discovered she brought hashish oil into the country. Something that was discovered at the Moscow airport. Russia agreed to allow Griner to leave in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout. A infamously dangerous individual who has earned his nickname as the “Merchant of Death.”
Meanwhile, Exotic was arrested and later found guilty of hiring two men to murder Baskin, a rival in the big cat industry. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison after facing a jury.
Now, he wants Biden to forget all that.
“A dangerous man was released for Brittney Griner to be free,” Exotic said, via TMZ. “It’s time Joe Exotic gets to go home for Christmas to be home with [boyfriend] Seth and his son for the first time in five Christmases.”
