Ozzy Osbourne Says Health Issues Have Him Feeling ‘Like I’m Walking Around In Lead Boots’

Somehow, Ozzy Osbourne is determined to keep on rockin’ in spite of it all. And that can’t be easy, given that the Prince of Darkness can’t seem to find a ray of light when it comes to his overall health these days.

Osborne, 73, underwent neck surgery earlier this summer and is also battling Parkinson’s. But that didn’t keep him from joining Black Sabbath for a performance at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games earlier this month.

“Since I had my [first neck] surgery and everything got f**ked up, it’s been three or four years since I’ve performed,” Osbourne told The Guardian. “And I was thinking it’ll never happen again. But that show’s given me a bit of hope.”

Of course, it’s not like Ozzy just rolled out on the stage and started belting out some old-school metal. He admittedly needed help from Sharon Osbourne, his wife of 40 years.

“Sharon had them put in a bracket at the back, to hold me up,” he said. “So I was leaning against that. And I was holding the microphone. I was kind of wedged in. Every time I see my Parkinson’s doctor, the first thing he says to me is: ‘Have you had any falls?’ Not only that, I’m on blood thinners. I’m pretty f**ked up, actually.”

Osbourne’s spinal issues have resulted in both a tingling sensation and serious pain. So much so that he wasn’t sure he wanted to go on.

“It got so bad that at one point I thought, ‘Oh God, please don’t let me wake up tomorrow morning.’ Because it was f**king agony,” he said.

Along with that, he revealed in 2020 that he was suffering from Parkinson’s, which only seemed to contain him even more.

“You think you’re lifting your feet, but your foot doesn’t move. I feel like I’m walking around in lead boots,” he said.

Despite all this, Osbourne is trying to maintain a positive outlook, and hey, who knows? Maybe he can keep performing.

“You learn to live in the moment, because you don’t know [what’s going to happen]. You don’t know when you’re gonna wake up and you ain’t gonna be able to get out of bed,” he said. “But you just don’t think about it.”

What do you think?
