A quick browse of eBay can bring some curious results.

Videos by Rare

The online resale giant is home to thousands of reputable products, from old cars to first editions of rare books. There are also things that fall through the cracks, and when they pop up, in even the most basic search history, they are bound to get some strange glances.

Here are some of the more memorable items that have been recently available. Maybe you don’t want them, but someone clearly does.

This Absurd Photo

Capture

What it is it? A signed Polaroid of 80s baseball player Keith Hernandez and an extremely old man.

How much did it sell for? $14.99

Why is it absurd? Just look at it, not only does it bleed fandom and desperation but it is also a perfect time capsule back to the late 1980s. Observe the older gentleman’s enormous coke bottle glasses. Look at Hernandez’s shirt, a perfect 80s pullover advertising some fantastic grizzly bears and salmon.

This Signed Baseball Bat

photo345

What is it? A baseball bat autographed by some random members of the New York Mets, past and present.

How much did it sell for? $56.00

Why is it absurd? Though on the surface it is a rather pedestrian piece of sports memorabilia, take a closer look. Look closer, closer–did you see it? The seller, while eager to unload his bit of sports history forgot to remove his pill bottle from the top left corner.

Seems that “sfylayank” has an unfortunate case of peptic ulcers or really bad heartburn. Get better “sfylanyank” and use your newfound 56.00 to buy some food that isn’t so acidic.

This Squirrel Recipe

squireel

What it is? A recipe for something…involving squirrels.

How much is it?$ .99

Why is it absurd? Lets look at the facts of this listing. Seller has a recipe for some squirrel, what kind of squirrel that is remains to be clear. In the listing it is referred to as “belain” in the title it is “belgain”, perhaps they were trying for Belgium? Who knows. Beyond the confusing spelling errors, just think about what is being offered. This recipe is so good that you have to pay someone to tell you what it is. At only .99 it can’t be THAT good, but it certainly must be good enough to bypass a simple search. Perhaps search engines haven’t yet reached those who are indulging in online squirrel…but then how did they get to eBay in the first place?

It also looks gross.

This Terrifying Photograph

ahhh

What is it? It is a thing…that is available for purchase…on the Internet

How much is it? $3.89

Why is it absurd? I haven’t been around the world yet, but I imagine if I had, this would still get into my top 10 weirdest things I have ever seen. Why does it exist? Clearly it is some old-timey humor card, but why wouldn’t someone have destroyed it by now? Excuse me while I take a moment to go write a horror treatment about this terrifying duo.

This Duck

duck

What is it? An old duck

How much is it? $89,990

Why is it absurd? Here I will quote directly from the listing for this one of a kind duck. People are strange.
