Young Woman Died In ‘Freak Accident’ At Music Festival
The Salt Lake Tribune shared details about the freak accident that occurred. Ahlander was enjoying the festival with her friends when severe weather began to ensue. The event was evacuated due to the weather, and Ahlander and her friends fled the scene along with other festivalgoers.
Salt Lake City Police reported that the 23-year-old parked her car “near 1055 W. North Temple, to shelter from the storm.” Everything was fine while she was inside her vehicle. However, at some point, she stepped out of her car.
- Local police shared that the wind blew a 2″x12″ scaffolding board. A nearby building had been under construction. The wood came from this location.
- That board proceeded to fall 30 feet and hit Ahlander and her car, crushing them both.
- Ahlander suffered severe injuries, and paramedics responded to the scene and transported her to the hospital.
Unfortunately, the young girl’s injuries were life-threatening, and she later succumbed to them. Her family shared a GoFundMe page for the young music fan. They are hoping to raise funds for the expenses of her celebration of life, burial costs, medical bills, and counseling services for those affected. When speaking of their loved one, they had this to say.
