A trucker on New Hampshire’s Interstate 93 was traveling at nearly 60 mph when a 19-pound turkey tried to fly across the road in front of him. It didn’t make it.

The bird smashed through the cab window and, stunningly, survived the impact. Though he received minor injuries from breaking glass, the trucker was able to pull off the road without incident. He called New Hampshire Fish and Game officers to the scene to rescue the turkey. They took the bird to a local animal rehabilitation facility, but it later succumbed to injuries from the accident, reports UPI.
The city of Manchester, N.H., posted photos from the incident. To no one’s surprise, at 55 miles per hour, hitting a 19-pound bird is a big deal.
