Céline Dion’s team pays tribute to her beloved husband on the one year anniversary of his passing

In 2015 and early 2016, Céline Dion prayed for their icon as her husband dealt with cancer.

René Angélil died on January 14, 2016, after a long battle with multiple types of cancer.

On Saturday, Dion paid tribute to her late husband with a heartfelt post to her Instagram.

“Il y a un an, le 14 janvier 2016, René Angélil nous quittait. Son souvenir reste à jamais gravé dans nos cœurs,” Dion’s team wrote in French on her Instagram page, along with an English translation.

“Today, January 14th, it’s been a year since René left us. He will always be in our hearts. -Team Céline ❤”

Earlier in the week, Dion shared a photo of her family around the holidays.

“Holiday memories! Now time to get back to work!” Dion posted.
