The Duggar family is “super excited” to share the news that one of the boys is officially courting

Joseph Duggar has officially entered a courtship!

This week, the 22-year-old son of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar announced he is courting a family friend, Kendra Caldwell. The pair reportedly met at church.

“We are so excited to share the news with others that we are courting,” Duggar told PEOPLE of his new relationship. “Our families are close friends through church and this has allowed Kendra and me to get to know each other. She’s the best!”

Caldwell, 18 was also enthusiastic about their new relationship.

“I’m looking forward to getting to spend more time with Joseph as we take this exciting step toward a new season in life,” she said. “It’s a really wonderful moment!”

Following news of their courtship, Duggar’s big sister, Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, and her husband, Ben Seewald, shared a special message to the couple.

“Congrats, Joe and Kendra,” Ben said.

“We are super excited for you all. It’s been quite a while since we’ve had one of the brothers in a courtship,” Jessa added. “So maybe some of the other guys will follow your lead now.”

Jessa also took to Twitter to share the news.

“Love is in the air! Congrats to my bro Joe, and his girlfriend Kendra! ,” she wrote.
