When pushing out a child, I think most women pray that it’s a nice, small one, for ease of exit. But for one Nashville woman, she drew the short straw and gave birth to a record-breaking baby.

I think Shelby Martin was already prepared for the worst when she just kept getting bigger and bigger during pregnancy. She shared pictures, pre-pop, on TikTok of her enormous stomach as her child grew inside her.
- Her unbelievable size could have easily been mistaken for twins or even triplets. But, instead, the Nashville mother was carrying one massive baby in there. She, wisely, opted for a C-section. There has to be a limit.
Big Baby: When Cassian was born in Nashville’s TriStar Centennial Women’s Hospital, he was the largest baby they had seen in three years. Coming in at a staggering 12 pounds, 14 ounces (5.8 kg), he was an absolute brute. The pictures she shared on her social media only reinforce it.
- Looking like an angry, pink bowling ball, the enormous baby broke records in the Nashville hospital. But, Shelby couldn’t be happier. First of all, she no longer has to carry the almost 6kg baby plus ‘extras’ around, but he’s also healthy and huge.
Chunky Child
Carrying a baby that size must have been a back-breaking struggle for the average-sized mumma. But she managed to keep him happy and healthy right up until her C Section. Being as big as he is, I thought that maybe she had overbaked her baby, keeping him in an extra nine months or so. Apparently, he was on time and just built like a boulder.
- Anyone considering getting pregnant should take a minute to look at just how big Shelby was before giving birth. Almost anyone can get pregnant, given the right situations, but the reality of actually having a baby is a whole new thing altogether.
We will have to see what the huge baby born to the Nashville mother will get up to in the future. I imagine multiple high school football teams have already reached out to her with promises of scholarships.
