When planning a trip, airfare is usually a large portion of the total price. Airplane tickets can vary widely based on factors like time of day and year flying, location, brand of airline, etc.

Many sites will also track other travel needs like hotels and car rentals, and some have blogs and tips to help with your search process and explain how they do theirs. While many sites are available on the internet and in apps, there are a handful that rise to the top.
