Someday, there could be a biopic about Drew Barrymore. After all, she has had quite an interesting life, beginning with her first role as a child actress in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

She has also overcome all sorts of obstacles to keep her in leading roles today — including her highly publicized childhood battles with drug and alcohol abuse. Barrymore, 47, documented these struggles in her excellent book, Little Girl Lost.
All that alone makes Barrymore the ideal candidate to be the subject of a biopic. And if the biopic were to become a reality, Barrymore would want Joey King to portray her.
At least, that’s what Barrymore said in a video posted to her TikTok account. The purpose of the video was actually to help present her CBS talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show.
She answered a number of questions, including “surprising celeb on my phone” and “who should play me in a biopic.” King was the answer for both.

And guess what? This isn’t the first time Barrymore was asked who should play her in a biopic. Back in April, an audience member from her show asked that very question. Her answer was considerably less specific.
“I don’t know who. I want someone funny, cause I like funny, I don’t want some heavy bird,” Barrymore answered, before finally admitting she didn’t have a pick. At least, not off the top of her head.
“I think this one is going to haunt me all day and night,” she said at the time.
Now, however, it appears she has an actress in mind.
King, 23, has appeared in multiple films and is probably best known for her works including The Kissing Booth, The Conjuring, Bullet Train, and Crazy, Stupid, Love to name a few. In 2019 the actress was nominated for both a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for the crime drama series, The Act.
