We’ve all dreamt about winning the lottery. But a Maryland woman is claiming that a dream actually led to her lucky numbers.
A woman who nabbed a $25,000 lottery prize claimed she won after using numbers that appeared in her sister’s dream, UPI reported Wednesday.
The 68-year-old woman typically uses numbers that allegedly appear in her own dreams, according to a Wednesday post on MDLottery.com. She normally tries to win Pick 3, Pick 4, and Pick 5.
But the latest time around, the retiree deviated from her normal routine and went with 2, 3, 8, 1, and 5. Those numbers allegedly appeared on a bus her sister was riding in a recent dream of her own, UPI said.
She bought the winning lottery ticket at a Food Lion store, according to UPI.
While the numbers didn’t appear in Picks 3 and 4, they did crop up in Pick 5, to the woman’s astonishment.
“I was excited,” the woman said, according to Maryland Lottery. “I saw nothing in my Pick 3 and Pick 4 tickets, but when I checked the Pick 5 it was straight across.”
She added: “I couldn’t believe it.”
She reportedly claimed the Maryland Lottery prize on Tuesday, saying she was “thankful, thankful.”
Perhaps best of all? The woman, whose name is not yet publicly known, hails from a place called Cockeysville, Maryland.
Score One For The Lottery Winners
While the story is charming, the winning amount of $25,000 paled in comparison to the ludicrous $1.3 billion jackpot in last week’s Mega Millions. A ticket holder in Illinois won that pot on Friday night, but under the state’s lottery rules, winners of $250,000 or more can remain anonymous, per Fox Business.
Friday’s drawing was the 13th one for that massive jackpot. Its run started April 19, the Mega Millions website said.
