St. Louis County Judge Sally Tarnowski died suddenly on Monday, March 6th during a vacation in Florida, authorities say. No immediate cause of death has been released.

Tarnowski served as Chief Judge of the Sixth Judicial District from 2016-2020, and was first elected as a Judge in 2008. She was an active Judge at the time of her passing.

Tarnowski pushed for mental health treatment court and supported early neutral evaluation in family court in order for ease of resolving custody cases, according to a news release. Starting in 2015, she began working alongside the University of Minnesota Duluth’s Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies to create Indian Child Welfare Court in Duluth.

Services in her honor will reportedly be announced shortly. For now, St. Louis County is left grieving a member of their community that had been in the public spotlight for 15 years.
Why do we continue to see so many people die suddenly? It is a trend that favors no race, gender, or religion. People around the world are dying suddenly in record numbers…. WHY?
Tarnowski was certainly a valuable member of her community, and to lose her is a tragedy. May she rest in peace.
so many people, young and older, seem to be dying very suddenly. I wonder if these people had Covid at some point. It just doesn’t make sense.
