During a recent family trip with their two young daughters, Tammi Keirl and Jason Weller, who were traveling in a van, found themselves in quite a scary situation after taking a wrong turn and driving close to a cliff edge.

The couple had taken an alpine road through Kosciuszko National Park in Australia but quickly realized that the path wasn’t suitable for their 21-foot caravan. Keirl documented the experience on her Instagram story, noting that there were no warning signs before they started driving down the trail. The route was 980m above sea level and had a sheer drop to the right, with “nowhere to turn round,” according to Keirl, who has 85,000 Instagram followers.
At one point, they had to move to the cliffside edge to allow another car to pass. That’s when Keirl expressed her fear and concern, saying, “I swear I thought we would all die.”

After safely exiting the tricky road, Keirl is warning other travelers with similar vehicles against taking the same route from Victoria to Jindabyne. “No one take this route with a caravan,” she stated. She also posted another photo of her daughters, saying, “Legitimately just grateful to be alive tonight.”
According to the Daily Mail, Keirl and Weller embarked on their van life adventure back in December, opting to homeschool their daughters while exploring Australia. Sadly, they recently revealed that they had to end the trip early due to the strain it put on their marriage. The couple is now planning to return home in April.
“It’s putting too much pressure on our marriage with zero kid-free time and Sav on the drives,” Keirl wrote on Instagram. “I’ll cherish all of it until it ends.”
