Actor Brendan Fraser probably had his best run during the late 1990s and early 2000s, but he is back in a big way.

Make that a big, BIG way.
After all, Fraser is next set to star in what is expected to be a thought-provoking drama entitled, The Whale. In it, Fraser’s character Charlie weighs 600 pounds.
The production company behind the film, recently sent out a promotional tweet of Frasier in the role. Needless to say, he was barely recognizable.
As Fox News explained it, the movie “focuses on the life of a 600-pound man named Charlie, who is seeking to reunite with his estranged teenage daughter after abandoning his wife and child for a gay lover. Charlie became morbidly obese after developing a compulsive eating disorder to deal with his lover’s death.”
The Whale will premiere at the 79th Venice Film Festival, which runs Aug. 31-Sept. 10. Sadie Sink of Stranger Things fame will play Charlie’s daughter. No official release date has been set.
“It’s gonna be like something you haven’t seen before,” Fraser told Unilad in 2021. “That’s really all I can tell you…The wardrobe and costume was extensive, seamless, cumbersome. This is certainly far removed from anything I’ve ever done but not to be coy … I do know it’s going to make a lasting impression.”
