We NEED this “smart oven” that makes freshly baked cookies in just 10 minutes

(Kickstarter)

The two worst parts of homemade cookies are the cleanup and the waiting. Who wants to wait forever for a treat to come out of the oven? And from the mixing bowl to the baking sheet, we hate scrubbing our dishes afterward.

CHiP eliminates both those problems. This tiny “smart oven” makes delicious homemade cookies in just 10 minutes.

According to a Kickstarter campaign for CHiP, the contraption uses a convection fan to bake the cookies perfectly every time. It’s also more energy efficient than a traditional oven, and it requires no cleanup.

CHiP, which is smaller than a standard toaster oven, has no buttons or timers. Instead, it links up with an app that tells it which type of cookie is inside, allowing it to run for the amount of time needed to bake the cookies perfectly. The app can even customize the baking process for people who like their cookies chewier, crunchier, and so on. The downside is that CHiP can only bake four cookies at a time.

The team behind CHiP collaborated with bakers to make special cookie doughs, and there’s something for every preference, from the classics (chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, funfetti) to the wild (peanut butter Nutella swirl, red velvet beetroot white chocolate), and even Paleo and sugar-free options. Dough can be ordered a la carte or on a subscription basis.

Pre-orders for CHiP cost $129; the first deliveries are scheduled to be made in October 2017. Learn more here.
