Jennifer Coolidge is once again breaking the internet, officially becoming TikTok famous. In a hilarious video, the actress, 61, decided to recite Jennifer Lopez’s 2002 mega-hit “Jenny From the Block” to celebrate her joining the popular platform.
“Hi, this is my first TikTok and I was trying to think of something cool to do,” she says while standing in front of a green screen while being interviewed alongside Lopez. “I think I’m just going to do a poem that I like,” she went on to add.
Jennifer Coolidge Joins TikTok
Being the cool actress she is, Coolidge then talks out the tune, over-enunciating the words for her “poetry” reading. “Don’t be fooled by the rocks that I got,” Coolidge stated. “I’m still Jenny. Jenny. Jenny from the block.”
The camera then goes on to cut to Lopez, 53, who plays her friend in their new movie, Shotgun Wedding, showing quite a hilarious expression on her face. “I like that. I really really like that,” the actress told Coolidge.
As expected the internet went wild, cheering the actress on for joining TikTok. “Not since Leslie Jordan have I been so excited to see someone join TikTok,” one user wrote. “Only Jennifer Coolidge would be able to master TikTok on her first TikTok,” another stated.
Shotgun Wedding Premier
Both actresses made their joint social media debut at the premiere of Shotgun Wedding, where Lopez decided to post an Instagram live video from the film’s Hollywood after party which included a kiss from husband Ben Affleck, and a candid moment with Coolidge.
The video starts with both actresses talking and dancing, with Lopez realizing that it was an Instagram live, as she addresses the camera. “We’re here at the Shotgun Wedding premiere,” she said with her arm around Coolidge. “It was so amazing. We had such a great time.”
Coolidge has been making quite a ruckus, for the better, on social media. In her 2023 Golden Globe awards acceptance speech, the actress went on to thank, “some of the people in this room … that kept me going for, you know, 20 years with these little jobs.”
