Can you imagine waking up 100 pounds lighter than you were when you went to sleep? Well, that’s what happened to this woman, who is definitely feeling a lot lighter. A Brazilian woman definitely found some relief after a 100-pound tumor she has been living with for 5 years was officially removed! YES, 100-POUND!

Can you imagine living with that for a full year, let alone 5? Jesus Christ, I don’t know how she did it for so long. Photos of the abdominal interloper are currently going viral on Facebook, because well, it’s just INSANE.
“It is not every day you operate on a tumor of that size!” surgeon Glaucio Boechat stated. The surgery took place on Aug. 31 at the Hospital São José do Avaí in Rio de Janeiro. Apparently, the patient, who preferred to remain anonymous, stood at 4 foot 8 and initially weighed 330 pounds. She suffered from shortness of breath which was allegedly caused by the huge mass. There, doctors found that her midsection had actually harbored a tumor weighing 100 pounds.
100 Pound Tumor Removed From Woman
To put that into perspective, that’s how much a baby hippo typically weighs. Big yikes, if you ask me. So, all that weight was compromising nearly a third of her full body weight. Several photos were shared by Dr. Boechat showing the before and after the extraction from her body. It’s pretty funny, really. The doctor is just posing with this massive ball, pretending it’s a pumpkin he picked at the pumpkin patch.
“It was the biggest tumor I have operated on and certainly one of the biggest that anyone has ever removed,” the surgeon said. Scientists believed that the mass had originated in her uterus, but wasn’t sure until the results of the biopsy arrived. Usually, it takes 20 days to have a result.
“There were about 13 or 14 people in the operating theater,” Boechat described. “The whole hospital mobilized to perform the procedure for the patient.” Luckily, two hours after the massive mass was extracted, the patient was stable and was able to breathe without the help of any equipment.
