If you decide to sneak off to an airplane toilet to suck on a vape and get caught, it’s usually best to just admit you’re wrong and slink off back to your chair in shame. The worst thing to do is start lying and accusing the staff on the plane of assault.

But that’s exactly what Peter Nguyen did on an American Airlines flight. Presuming that he could break the rules, he scuttled off to the bathroom. Here, he began vaping, unable to curb his addiction. A flight attendant, noticing the problem, asked him to come out of the bathroom.

“While I was in the lavatory, the door was unlocked and opened twice without my consent, leaving me exposed to other passengers. My phone was taken from me, and my recording was stopped,” he said on his Instagram.

Footage from the incident, shot on his phone, shows how badly he behaved. As the flight attendant tells the influencer that vaping is illegal in the bathroom of the plane, he tries to flip the script. Pushing a phone into her face, he claims she assaulted him and breached his civil rights.

Because he was recording her, the flight attendant went to grab his phone. But he uses it as ammunition and walks away from her. He claims to be a lawyer, telling her she will lose her job. Then, he posted it online, hoping to shame her.

Bathroom Vape Shame

Of course, once the video of Nguyen vaping in the bathroom of the plane went viral, people pointed out how foul his behavior was. He could have easily not used his vape for the flight. Also, he could have been humble, admitted his mistake, and returned to his seat.

Instead, he lied about being a lawyer, publicly shamed a flight attendant doing her job, and tried to have her fired. The comments on his video reflect the public opinion of the man. Vaping on a flight is a crime, and he knew it.

But he is still trying to play the victim online after the bathroom vaping incident. His recent post states, “This experience has been deeply distressing — emotionally, professionally, and financially. I’ve lost major clients, am undergoing therapy, and am now speaking out to make sure no passenger has to go through this again.”
