A man has taken it upon himself to protect the birds on a museum grounds that is covered in hazardous netting, going viral while wrangling an affected goose. However, the institution wasn’t too happy with him.

David Prince runs a TikTok all about his adventures saving birds from dangerous situations. One video in particular has gone viral. He is seen wrestling a goose into submission and cutting netting from its mouth.

The video calls for the boycotting of Living History Farms due to their improper use of netting. He says that, because of the way it was laid and their negligence, it poses a health risk to the grazing birds. As shown in the footage, it can get caught in their beaks.

As the video of Prince wrestling and freeing the bird from the netting rolls, he explains the situation. He noted that the property had been using landscape netting. This is designed to protect fresh grass and roots. Typically, it’s removed once the grass has grown.

Not removing it means that the netting gets cut up by lawnmowers and strewn across the grass. A goose, grazing, won’t know the difference between net and grass. Their beaks become tangled, and it’s up to people like Prince to free them.

@ibirdrescue1 Please boycott Living History Farms (and the companies that support them) in Urbandale, Iowa until Living History Farms cleans up the litter on their property and they install their landscape netting properly so the grass mowers won't chop up their landscape netting into bite size pieces that birds can be harmed by. If you decide to call them, please be polite and respectful. Do not harass or threaten them. If you're going to call, just ask them to clean up the pieces of landscape netting sitting on top of their grass and to install their landscape netting properly without leaving several inches of it left above the ground and grass so it doesn't get chopped up by mowers and into the beaks of the wild birds that go on their property. #waterfowl #geeseoftiktok #animalrescue #birds ♬ good morning, everyone – OVN

He claims that he repeatedly asked the staff to do something about it. However, his pleas fell on deaf ears. The video claims that this was the fourth goose he rescued, and it resulted in him being banned from the museum grounds.

Goose Rescuer Gets Grounded

But his requests have fallen on deaf ears. Despite repeated calls to the museum, they are refusing to do anything about the harmful netting. He hopes that his video of his goose rescue will be enough to kick them into gear.

So far, the only thing to come of it is a ban from the museum by the owners. Prince states that rather than a callback from the museum, he only got a call from the police. They informed him that he had trespassed upon the property and was now banned, unable to save another goose.

However, he is using his viral video to call for people to put pressure on the museum to sort out their issues.
