After all, Lowe has been married to Sheryl Berkoff for 31 years. That’s not just a long time for Hollywood. That’s a long time for most people.
Lowe, 58, celebrated their anniversary by posting a picture of Berkoff on their 31st anniversary — along with a heartfelt message.
“Happy 31st Anniversary, baby. Your love has made my world,” he wrote on Instagram. “You are as beautiful, knowledgeable, fascinating, kind, and hilarious as you were so many glorious years ago. Partners in love for life!!”
Berkoff posted a picture and message of her own.
“Love is always Celebrating 31 years. Blessed and grateful. Happy Anniversary xoxo.”
How did the two meet?
Lowe and Berkoff, 61, were originally fixed up by friends in 1983. He’s an actor; she’s a makeup artist. But neither was ready for a relationship. She actually date Keanu Reeves for a short while.
But Lowe and Berkoff reconnected on the set of his 1990 movie Bad Influence, hit off, and tied the knot a year later.
“Listen, she may have saved my life, really,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, she met me when I was at the end of my ’80s run of wild boy craziness and she was worth changing my life for. And so I am really lucky that that happened to me. Maybe I had changed it on my own, maybe, but it’s a big maybe. And just when I met her, I knew that if I could not make it with her, I definitely could not make it work with anyone else.”
The couple has two sons — Matthew Edward Lowe, 29, and John Owen Lowe, 27.
