Britney Spears is apparently dissatisfied with the amount of attention she’s getting from posting nude photos of herself on social media. So she’s heading to Broadway with a new musical comedy based on her songs.
Producers of the show, which is called Once Upon a One More Time, announced Friday that it will open on Broadway in 2023, according to People. It was probably welcome news for Britney Spears, who turned 41 years old Friday.
More specifically, the show will reportedly premiere at the Marquis Theatre in New York City on June 22, 2023. Preview shows are slated to start on May 13.
It’s a long time in the waiting, as producers announced Once Upon a One More Time in 2019, People noted. Casting is still unknown.
Jon Hartmere (The Upside, Bare) wrote the production. It is directed and choreographed by Keone and Mari Madrid of World of Dance, according to People.
Once Upon a One More Time reportedly revolves around princesses from fairy tales who meet up as part of their book club. A “rogue fairy godmother” gives them a copy of The Feminine Mystique, Betty Friedan’s 1963 bestselling feminist book, People said.
Britney Keeps Streaking on Social Media
Meanwhile, for whatever reason, Spears has been showing up nude more often these days. Actually, the reason is her Instagram account. As OutKick’s Anthony Farris relayed: “Throughout 2022 the Baby One More Time singer has been nude on a boat (OK, it was topless, but, semantics…), in a hotel room, in the pool and in front of windows.”
Britney Spears continued her bizarre streak on Thursday by posting a photo of herself holding her stomach on Instagram.
“Not sure why I’m holding my stomach … I think I felt bloated 😒😒😒 !!!” she wrote in the comments section of the post.
