For the second time in the past year, Woods has had to withdraw from a major championship due to his injuries. The athlete had to remove himself from the PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma back in May of last year.

Earlier this week, Woods had told reporters that he isn’t performing as well as he would like in the past, due to the leg injury he sustained from a car crash in February 2021. The 47-year-old has participated in the Masters Tournament at Augusta National 25 times. According to ESPN, Woods revealed that he experiences constant pain in his right leg and that it remained sore after the first round. He went on to say that while hopping on his left leg is not an issue, doing so on his right leg is more difficult.

Woods has won the Masters Tournament five times during his decade-long career. Unfortunatly, he expressed uncertainty earlier this week regarding whether or not this would be his last appearance in the elite event.

“I don’t know how many more I have in me,” he told CNN. “So just to be able to appreciate the time that I have here and cherish the memories.”
