Tom Cruise to Reunite With James Corden for Final ‘Late Late Show’

The upcoming finale of the Late Late Show hosted by James Corden is approaching pretty quickly, and to commemorate the show’s groundbreaking success, stunt expert Tom Cruise will make a special appearance in a final, grand sketch.

CBS revealed on Friday that the star of Top Gun: Maverick and the 44-year-old host of the late-night program will join forces one last time for an out-of-this-world sketch to be shown during the social event called “The Last Last Late Late Show.” The show is scheduled to air at 11 p.m. ET/PT on Thursday, April 27.

During the primetime special, Corden and Cruise will showcase their musical talents in a rendition of The Lion King at the illustrious Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. In a photograph provided by CBS, it looks like Corden and Cruise will portray the iconic duo, Timon and Pumbaa.

More details will be announced later, but fans should prepare for an unforgettable reunion during this primetime special, which will be followed immediately by the final airing of The Late Late Show.

The announcement from the network will also reveal additional A-listers who will be joining Corden in the final two months of his show, which has amassed millions of viewers over its nearly decade-long stint on CBS. The program featured beloved segments such as “Carpool Karaoke” and “Crosswalk the Musical,” among others.

Corden and Cruise have been longtime friends and collaborators, having previously worked on segments for the show, including a skydiving stunt they did together in 2018.

In May, Corden delivered a monologue, announcing that he had signed on for one more season of The Late Late Show before exiting the series, which he has hosted since March 2015.
