Mama June Shannon and Justin Stroud have re-tied the knot in a beautiful oceanfront wedding ceremony in Panama City, Florida. The intimate event will be showcased in the upcoming season of Mama June: Family Crisis, set to premiere on WE tv on May 5.

Although the couple had a private courthouse wedding in Georgia a year ago, their recent ceremony at SpringHill Suites included several family members, including daughters Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, and Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, as well as June’s grandchildren Stella, Sylus, and Bentley.
“This was the first time the family had all been together since 2014,” Mama June told Entertainment Tonight, “so it was really special to get married in a place where my family and I have had so many memories!”
So, who is Justin Stroud and how did they meet?
He’s Here To Stay!
Back in May, the reality star spoke with E! News’ Daily Pop about how Stroud helped here when her past struggles with addiction.
“I met Justin a year ago. He had no idea what I was going through,” she stated. “He was texting me, ‘Hey, how you doing? I was thinking about you today. Hopefully, you have an amazing day.’ And those small little text messages when you’re going through some trauma in your life, you don’t realize how much it is.”
During the premiere of Mama June: Road to Redemption on May 12 last year, June addressed critics who had raised questions about Stroud’s relationship with her family, reassuring people that he wasn’t seeking attention or any financial gain. According to June, Stroud had his own life, money, and ambitions.
“He is not here for the clout. He’s not here for the money. He don’t give a s–t what’s in the bank account,” she stated. “He’s got his own life, his own money, his own s–t, his own goals.”
The Couple Met on Social Media
The reality star has revealed that the couple actually met on TikTok, saying that he initially didn’t know that she was famous. “We became friends originally, and he didn’t know who Mama June was when he met me,” she said, explaining that she didn’t tell him she was a victim of domestic violence before meeting. “I had been told I wasn’t his type, that he wasn’t single. But it turns out I was his type, and he was single!” she noted.
Her Kids Approve
Apparently, he also has the stamp of approval from all of June’s four children, including Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon, and Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, as well as June’s grandchildren Stella, Sylus, and Bentley.
“They like him,” June told E! News back then. “We’ve all hung out. They were honest when he first met him and they told him that, ‘Hey, it’s not you. It’s her. She brings people around’ and he understood that.”
He Was Arrested
According to The Sun, Stroud was subject to an active arrest warrant in Alabama. In November 2019, he was arrested for possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia, as well as for burglary at a third-degree dwelling and theft of property.
Although he pleaded guilty to the latter two charges, the district attorney’s office, which was responsible for overseeing Justin’s case, had confirmed that he was on probation and had been issued a violation on October 26, 2021.
He’s a Tattoo Artist
In October 2021, June had teased she was seeing someone by sharing a picture of his newly-inked forearm on her Instagram page. However, she didn’t reveal the identity of her new partner and only tagged the tattoo artist.“@princeofink always doing an awesome job thanks for hooking up my new boo with some ink see ya soon,” she noted
She also opened up about her dating life in a Facebook post that read, “If they truly make you happy and they are who you want to be with for the rest of your life just make sure they know you are appreciative, grateful and thankful to have them and lucky to have them tell them you love them even you are mad.”
Stout is also reportedly an auto mechanic, according to The Sun.
