You’ve Been Heard: McDonald’s Brings Back Breakfast Favorite

You’ve been lied to by McDonald’s, but from the sounds of things, you aren’t too disappointed about it.

After all, the bagel is back — and less than a year after McDonald’s said it was bringing dropped and wouldn’t return.

The reason for its return? People asked for it.

In case you missed it, McDonald’s recently pinned a tweet atop its Twitter account that said simply “bring back.” The responses were plenty, with fans listing some of their favorite (and most ridiculous) items from yesteryear.

The list include McPizza, the McDLT and Snack Wraps. But many of the responses named the breakfast bagels — so yes, McDonald’s is rolling them out on a limited basis. Speculation says that hey could be back everywhere soon.

This flies in the face of a statement released by the fast-food behemoth back in January.

“It is with love and deep respect for one another that we announce that we are parting ways with Breakfast Bagels and Breakfast Wraps. Despite speculation and following a trial separation period, Breakfast Bagels & Breakfast Wraps will not be returning to the menu,” McDonald’s announced at the time, before adding a dose of humor.

“We adore each other deeply but our love for the iconic McMuffin was simply too hard to ignore. We want our fans to know this is a mutual decision, to the extent that a bagel can make its own decision.”

Anyway, four bagel sandwiches are returning: Steak, Egg & Cheese; Bacon, Egg & Cheese; Sausage, Egg & Cheese, and Egg & Cheese.

What we don’t know is the where and when, as McDonald’s has yet to reveal a national rollout or set a timetable for the offer.
