Rosie Shades Return of Elisabeth Hasselbeck To ‘The View’

Rosie said Hasselbeck’s temporary return reminded her why she doesn’t watch the talk show with her.

It almost goes without saying that Rosie O’Donnell would, sooner or later, rip into Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s return to The View.

On Friday, Rosie said Hasselbeck’s temporary return reminded her why she doesn’t watch the talk show with her.

Hasselbeck served as the conservative voice on The View from 2003-13, returning last week to guest host. It took almost no time for Hasselbeck to whip up controversy again, trading blows with Whoopi Goldberg over abortion.

Former View moderator Rosie O’Donnell didn’t wade into that particular skirmish on Friday. Nonetheless she made her feelings about Hasselbeck clearly known in a TikTok video.

At first, it seemed Rosie was deprecating herself in the TikTok clip.

“OK, so I prepared myself,” the video began. “I got ready to watch Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View. She’s not on today. She was on yesterday. So I missed it.”

But, Rosie being Rosie, she didn’t stop there.

“But then I went back on The View on my Apple TV or whatever, and I watched it from yesterday. And I remembered why I don’t want to watch it with her anymore,” Rosie said, shaking her head.

Hasselbeck And Rosie: Ways Apart

Hasselbeck, left The View in July 2013 amid — but not necessarily because — fans of the show said she was too conservative, per US Weekly.

She subsequently joined Fox & Friends the following September, replacing Gretchen Carlson. Hasselbeck’s stint on that show lasted until December 2015.

As for Rosie, she attracted attention Thursday as TikTok users tried to figure out if she and her daughter are feuding. Most notably, the sometimes-sarcastic but always-controversial comedian and actress said she might spill the beans about her daughter — presumably, her private life.

The TikTok tussle (or tease?) began Thursday when Vivienne, Rosie O’Donnell’s 19-year-old daughter, posted a video about her upbringing. Vivienne said that, while she loves her mother, she isn’t considered “normal,” according to Entertainment Tonight.

Roșie O’Donnell then posted a TikTok video of her own, in response to what her daughter said.

“ViVi, what do you mean I didn’t do anything normal? I did normal things. I’m normal. … Geez, Viv. I’m gonna tell some secrets about you.”

It was difficult to tell if Rosie O’Donnell and/or her daughter were ribbing each other or had beef.
