Prominent conservative groups, representatives, and senators took a stand against their own party’s Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) repeal and replacement plan. The House Republicans’ American Health Care Act, which contains many parts of Obamacare that Republicans spent years campaigning against, has been dubbed “Obamacare 2.0,” “Obamacare-lite,” and “RyanCare.”

One of the more vocal opponents to the replacement plan has been Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.). Earlier in the week, Paul accused House Republican leadership of hiding the bill in order to mask its similarities to Obamacare.
Trump called the senator out on Twitter, confident that he would get his support.

It was reported that Trump met with leaders of conservative groups in the Oval Office on Thursday.
There, he criticized groups like Club for Growth, Freedom Works, Heritage Action, and the Koch Brothers-funded Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Partners for speaking out against the replacement plan and “helping the other side.”
The president expressed a plan to pressure the opposing Republicans into supporting his bill. “Trump said he will have football-stadium events in states where he won by 10-12 points and he is going to dare people to vote against him,” a source reportedly disclosed to CNN.
And Trump said of Paul, “I love him. He’s a friend. He’s going to end up voting for it.”
