As Kate McKinnon continues to open up about her recent exit from Saturday Night Live, on Thursday she revealed her “greatest” moment on the show.

Kate McKinnon said on Vulture’s Good One podcast that the time she played the character Colleen Rafferty was her favorite on SNL. She recalled the first time she played the actor — who claims to be abducted by aliens — cracking up with cast members Cecily Strong and Aidy Bryant, and guest host Ryan Gosling.
“Looking back on my decade at ‘SNL,’ it was the greatest thing ever,” McKinnon said. “Every time we rehearsed it, there was laughter, and it just felt like soaring, just performing it. That’s because the writing was so good, and I was so excited for people to hear the turns of phrase that the guys had written, and they responded in a way that I hoped they would.”
Kate McKinnon brought out the character again during her send-off on the show’s season finale two months ago.
Last month, McKinnon revealed why she left the legendary variety show after 11 years.

“I thought about it for a very long time, and it was very, very hard,” Kate McKinnon said. “All I ever wanted to do in my life was be on Saturday Night Live. And so I did. I loved it. I had the best decade. And then … my body was tired, and I felt like it was time.”
Kelly Ripa, who started as a morning TV talk show in 2001, then joked: “It was just a decade, though.”
McKinnon laughed: “I know, thank you.”
She was a STAR. Every time she came out in a skit, your know it was going to be good and she never disappointed. Hopefully, once she rests, she’ll be back on screen. Great actress!
