OK, some people probably don’t care. But Banderas sure seems to be all for it — and he was the star the last two times. Only this time, Banderas has other ideas. He would want someone else in a starring role, he indicated in an interview with Comic Book.

That someone? Well, how about former Spider-Man sensation Tom Holland? Banderas himself suggested the idea, as he and Holland actually starred together in Uncharted.

“I did Uncharted with him, and he’s so energetic and fun, and he’s got this spark too,” Banderas said. “Why not?”

Along with the original Zorro, Banderas reprised the character in the 2005 follow-up The Legend of Zorro, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones.

“If they called me to do Zorro, I would do what Anthony Hopkins did for me, which is to pass the torch,” Banderas told Comic Book of a potential addition to the franchise.

For now, there is not yet another Zoro flick in the works, as far as anyone knows. But Banderas, 62, clearly has some big ideas.

Either way, as Collider noted, only “time will tell”. ” if another such film will come about. “What we do know is that it will have some big combat boots to fill with both of his previous installments bringing in a total of over 392 million at the box office,” Collider wrote.

But just in case, Holland may want to catch some zzz’s. A new swashbuckling pirate hunter may be needed soon.
