This all-star singalong of a karaoke classic has never sounded as fun as it did at the Grammys

There were plenty of serious performances at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 12. There were some political moments, some poignant ones and some magical, too. But besides host James Corden’s hilarious emceeing, you might not expect there would be any silly moments.

But, you’d be wrong.

During a make-shift version of James’ “Carpool Karaoke” — the viral skit that helped give his “Late Late Show” a musical dimension — the host brought out a cardboard car and invited a handful of entertainers to join him for a rousing version of everyone’s favorite wedding reception singalong, “Sweet Caroline.”

Fortunately, the song’s writer and original performer, Neil Diamond, was nearby to help kick things off, and beautiful Jennifer Lopez joined James in the front seat. But the casual drive turned into a full-fledged party when John Legend, Jason Derulo, One Republic’s Ryan Tedder, and country stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Keith Urban buckled in for the ride.

Hilariously imperfect, it became obvious that not everyone knew the lyrics to the rockin’ karaoke classic, but it didn’t even matter when the entire Staples Center burst into the chorus for what might be the biggest self-contained singalong ever.

Oh, and just to add a little icing on the cake and to ramp the star factor through the roof, Beyoncé and Jay Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy, and her pal joined the clown car at the very end. Even kiddos love a good time at the Grammys.
