Naomi Judd, the matriarch singer of the Grammy-winning duo The Judds and mother to both bandmate Wynonna and actress Ashley Judd, has died. Judd was 76.

Her daughters announced her death on Saturday and released a statement to The Associated Press.
“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” the statement said. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”
The statement did not elaborate further on what was afflicting their mother.
The Judds were set to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on Sunday.
The Judds’ hits included Love Can Build a Bridge, Mama He’s Crazy, Why Not Me, Turn It Loose, Girls Night Out, Rockin’ With the Rhythm of the Rain and Grandpa.

So very sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. It is very devastating I know and also know there are no words or actions that will ease the pain or take it away. I just lost my husband of almost 49 years (29 of this month), two months ago and still have no sense of direction I need to go. She had been diagnosed with Hep C several years ago. As with my brother it is a horrible disease. His mind went over a short number of years.

oh wow I am in shock to hear of the passing of Wynona Judd, I am not a fan of country music, but they were a duo, they were inseperable together they made music, together..So sad to hear of this my heart goes out to the Judd family, prayers as well may she RIP..
