Jane Fonda Prefers Solo Sex These Days

For the record, Jane Fonda (85) is a proud advocate of solo sex. At least for herself. She’s previously spoken about the evolution of her sex life while on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show. Asked to characterize her preferences, she said, “Private… solo, solo.” She added that women tend to understand their bodies more as they age. Also, Fonda had previously admitted to feeling as though she was no longer interested in romantic relationships while speaking to Harper’s BAZAAR. But that doesn’t mean sex has to go out the window.

Drew Barrymore Asked Fonda If She Relaxes with Adult Toys

“Jane, you relax with like, baths and meditations,” said Barrymore. “Is it true that there almost might be an adult toy involved?” She covered her grin with her hand as soon as she asked Fonda the question. The audience erupted in a wave of groans as Fonda looked blank, almost indignant about the question. But then it becomes clear that this is more of a look of “duh of course” than “how dare you.”

“Oh, there is,” actress Lily Tomlin interjects. Tomlin and Fonda were appearing together on the talk show while promoting their new film Moving On. The revenge comedy has subtle tones of the iconic duo’s TV show Grace and Frankie. The actresses have a chemistry that can only be founded in true friendship and have previously spoken about eating peyote together — so of course, Tomlin knew the answer to Barrymore’s question.

“Am I sitting on it?” Tomlin adds, looking around as Fonda smiles and starts explaining her bedroom setup.

Jane Fonda Says She Her Top Dresser Drawer Would Make Drew Barrymore “Freak Out”

“There’s my bed, there’s my dresser, and in the top dresser drawer, you would freak out if you saw what’s in there,” said Fonda.

Barrymore is beside herself at this point. “What is in there!?” She leans in close to Fonda. “I need some help Jane, can you help me?”

“Yeah, I will. Just wait til we step outside of this room,” says the gorgeous octogenarian.

Fonda Proudly Gave Barrymore a Vibrator and the Audience Erupted

Drew Barrymore however couldn’t wait. The notoriously mischievous actress was blushing as she pointed to the side of the couch.

“Well actually, what is in this box over here?” she asked.

“Take your hands off that!” Fonda shouts, swatting an apologetic Barrymore away.

“Especially for you, I have a… I have an adult toy,” Fonda says. She is clearly very happy with herself. The box was for Barrymore all along, but it needed to be presented the right way.

The eager talk show host is nearly in tears as she accepts the gift box. “Thank you! Thank you so much!” Barrymore says as she lifts the cover and pulls out a teal and white, banana-shaped vibrator. She holds it to her ear like a phone before putting it away.

Meanwhile, the audience went wild at what they just witnessed. It was a woman’s woman moment, one that perhaps the best of girlfriends may have experienced, but taboo to others. If anyone could have pulled off giving a vibrator to a platonic friend, it was Jane Fonda and Drew Barrymore.

Masturbation Has a Long List of Physical and Mental Health Benefits

According to research, masturbation has many health benefits for women (and men). For men, the practice can reduce the chances of getting prostate cancer, improve sleep quality, and improve sperm quality, among other things. Women get similar benefits.

Forbes cited a Univia study that found 96% of people interviewed practiced masturbation at least once a month and 59% of people who masturbated weekly had a positive body image. Scientists have also found that, apart from some drugs, orgasms provide the biggest natural dose of dopamine available. Dopamine, along with serotonin, are important neurotransmitters that can reduce anxiety. Both are released in orgasm along with the hormone oxytocin. They provide a person with feelings of happiness, satisfaction, and pleasure.

Then comes vasopressin, which is released post-orgasm. Vasopressin and melatonin aid in better sleep quality, which is likely why many people use sex or masturbation to relax and fall asleep.

When we become excited through arousal that leads to orgasm, our heartbeats also increase, which some researchers have considered to be a health benefit, like cardio. And for women, contractions can strengthen the pelvic floor, which is especially good for mothers or aging, as those muscles can weaken over time and lead to issues like incontinence. Orgasms can also help lubricate dryness that comes with menopause and alleviate cramps and pains that may come with PMS. In fact, orgasms are thought to be all-around painkillers, as endorphins can temporarily rewire a person’s brain-body pain processes.

And if that’s not enough, orgasms can also improve your complexion!

And now we all understand why Jane Fonda looks the way she does.
