How I Met Your Mother went on to create something legen- wait for it- dary! In the season two Premiere episode, Hilary Duff, who plays Sophie, told her best friend Valentina, played by Francia Raisa, that she felt as if she had hit rock bottom in her love life. But in Sophie’s narration, voiced by the incredible Kim Cattrall, viewers learned the opposite.

“I was wrong,”  Sophie said. “ Rock Bottom wouldn’t come until later that year.”  The show then cuts to the scene which takes place down the road featuring present Sophie driving in her car freaking out about a new potential suitor who may or may not be her father.

Sophie still hasn’t met the identity of her father, but fans have theories about his identity. “ Mom, please call me back!  I think I’m dating my dad.”

Sophie then roughly crashes into a vehicle after the call ends. As she gets out of her car she begins to apologize to the driver, which viewers get a huge surprise. Barney Stinson, played by Neil Patrick Harris on How I Met Your Mother, was the driver. After buttoning his suit, Barney raises his arms and says, “Dude!”

It still isn’t clear if Harris’s character will reappear again in the series. Harris, 49, played Stinson on the CBS series about Ted Mosby’s life as he tells the love story of how he met his wife. The series aired from 2005 to 2014 for a total of nine seasons. It also stars Josh Radnor, Allison Hannigan, Cobie Smulders, and Jason Segal. The series was narrated by the late actor Bob Saget. Several other original actors have appeared in the reboot including Smulders, who she reprise her role as Robin Scherrbatsky.
