Judd’s family reportedly petitioning a court to seal audio and video recordings made during the investigation into Judd’s death.

The family members include husband Larry Strickland, and daughters Ashley Judd and Wynonna Judd. Their court filing argues that police records would cause “significant trauma and irreparable harm” upon release, The Tennessean reports.

Naomi Judd’s family initially said the country music legend died from mental illness. Later, they confirmed she died from suicide.

Wynonna and Ashley recently learned that their mother omitted them altogether from her will. They are devastated that Naomi Judd, who committed suicide earlier this year, left her estate only to her second husband, Stickland.

The matter gets worse for musician Wynonna Judd and actor Ashley Judd. Naomi Judd also appointed Strickland’s brother as an estate co-executor, in the event Strickland dies or otherwise can’t run the estate.

Wynonna Judd also contends that her band The Judds are responsible for her mother’s wealth.

Judd Family Members Unite For Filing Over Naomi Judd’s Death

Nonetheless, the family members came together to try to block the release of the police materials. The Tennessean and other news outlets requested their release.

PopCulture.com reports that the petition that the family members filed itself “reveals several heartbreaking details” supporting the request.

For example, Ashley Judd was the individual who found her mother when she was still alive. Ashley stayed with Naomi for the 30 minutes it took emergency services to get to where she was.

The family members’ Friday filing reportedly claims police didn’t tell Ashley that they recorded their interviews. She also didn’t know they would later be available to the media and public, according to reports.
