Police in Campbell, California, are investigating two men who stole a flag from the downtown neighborhood.

The video shows two males walking toward the house. One man not-so-slyly stands on lookout while the other hops the house’s short white picket fence.
After wiggling his fingers, the suspect yanks at the flag pole, struggling mightily until his fifth pull when the star spangled banner comes loose from the house.
Triumphant, he strides toward the fence, swings his legs over and immediately hits the pavement.
The lookout guy stands over the flag thief for almost 30 seconds before hoisting the man off the ground.
Obviously injured, he struggles to his feet, picks up the flag and hobbles away with what looks like a leg injury.
The police department was made aware of the video in early June, said Gary Berg, a Campbell City Police Captain.
He personally had not seen the video until Rare called him, and while on the phone with us he watched the clip.
After chuckling when the man struggled to get up, Berg said that it probably wasn’t a planned event, but probably happened as the suspects were walking from the downtown area.
