What that had to do with winning a football game and advancing to the Super Bowl, well, we will probably never know.

But does it really matter? Kelce and the Chiefs went on to beat the Philadelphia Eagles, and along the way, Kelce became a true blue celebrity of sorts — his outstanding play and fraternity-dude personality winning the hearts of many.

That includes the people in charge of finding a guest host for Saturday Night Live, as Kelce will now serve in that role. Kelce revealed as much during a guest spot on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

He added that he’s honored to do so.

Football Takes Over SNL

“I was a huge like [Chris] Farley, [Will] Ferrell, Fallon kind of guy growing up,” Kelce told Fallon. “And I used to watch Saturday Night Live with my mother. It’s an absolute honor and a privilege to be hosting SNL March 4.”

Kelce comes across as the guy who is carrying a keg under each arm and screaming “let’s go!” as h arrives at the party. But he has a soft side, he admitted. And he revealed part of it while speaking to Fallon about hosting SNL.

“I am so nervous for that, oh my gosh,” he said.

Kelce is the younger brother of Jason Kelce, the star offensive lineman with the Eagles. Their mother was shown repeatedly wearing s shirt that depicted half-Chiefs, half-Eagles during the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl and for the game.

Travis and Jason became the first brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl.

“The way the football world and everybody embraced my family and me and my brother playing against each other, for the first time two brothers playing against each other in the Super Bowl,” Kelce, 33, said. “It was cool to break that barrier and see my family and all the light and getting all the glory, it was beautiful.”
