On the 15th of this month, authorities responded to a car accident in the Malibu area. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered that the 97-year-old had crashed his car into a gate.

Initial Details
Police state that the actor incurred ‘minor injuries’ from the crash. He was driving his silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 when the vehicle veered from the road and collided with the gate. Investigators suspect that the road was more slick than usual due to recent heavy rainfall.
Van Dyke was treated by paramedics at the scene, but he wasn’t taken to the hospital. He was bleeding from the nose and mouth and was possibly concussed.
Representatives for the actor have not provided any comments regarding the incident.

We last saw the star when he was featured on the 9th season of The Masked Singer.
“I had never even seen the show when they asked me. So I checked it out and it looked like a lot of fun,” he shared with PEOPLE, “I was positive they wouldn’t be able to guess who I was. And I was right!”
Van Dyke performed Frank Sinatra’s “When You’re Smiling.” The song was selected by his wife, Arlene Silver. “They wanted me to do something current and I know nothing from rock. So we picked out one which typifies me. She’s the one that came up with it and I liked the song, too.”
The actor also shared that his wife is his secret to remaining young at heart. “Having a beautiful young wife half my age to take care of me — that works! My positive attitude, I get that from my wife.”
“Every day my beautiful wife sings,” he added. “There’s a lot of duets going on around the house most of the day.”
