Tim Allen Returning to TV For First Time Since ‘Last Man Standing’

Home Improvement star Tim Allen has a lot in store in the near future, but it looks like History Channel won the race. Just in time before Disney+ airs The Santa Claus series, Allen will be co-hosting a new show, More Power. The show will feature a state-of-the-art power tool every week and will take place partly at Tim Allen’s own shop. Richard Karn from Home Improvement and April Wilkerson from Assembly Required will be co-starring alongside Allen.

Allen hasn’t been on anything new for just over a year after the series finale of the sitcom Last Man Standing aired in May 2021. History was featuring Allen on their DIY competition series, Assembly Required, between February and April of that same year.

It seems that History may have decided to go a different route with More Power. It’s clear that there are similarities to the DIY show, however.

In fact, More Power’s Twitter account confirms that Assembly Required has basically morphed into their new show.

More Power will discuss a range of tools as we learn about the history and development of them. Viewers then get to witness Allen and other experts try to improve on the best power tools around at the end of each episode. That part has been dubbed “Tim’s Maker Challenge.”

The first season will feature 10 30-minute episodes.

The show’s official logline states:

More Power “celebrate[s] the evolution of the coolest, most iconic tools, from handheld and basic, to the industrial and mighty, testing the limits in a way that only Tim can… They’ll open the doors to Tim’s workshop and invite some of the most skilled makers from around the country to show off their creations before then heading out on field trips to play with the biggest machines that keep our world working.”

Tim Allen and Richard Karn are also executive producers on the new show.

  1. Last standing was epic ,so enjoyed your comments.
We need Americans like you to stand up and continue.
And you are doing that,Good luck with the new show.

  2. Allen is a right wing nut and posts homophobe and racist remarks . He even used them in Last man standing. His next job will be right wing Radio. Love that he got fired from Buzz Lightyear because of his support of Deplorables. Must be tough to only have his shit and Fake News Channel as your entertainment

  3. The “use of right wing” and “deplorable’s” from “a left wing socialist” shows how intolerance is past. Hate on your part is rejected. Humor to make a point is better than blind intolerance! And we wonder why division “is the norm”? Disagreement build America. Disruption fire and mayhem have no place! November will change our misguided “Globalization” farce! Prepare to be shown the door.. it swings out…
