On Monday, Hadid shared an update on her journey of sobriety via TikTok, announcing that she had now been abstaining from alcohol for five months. “5 months alcohol free,” she wrote in the caption of the post.

In the video, the 26-year-old can be seen rejoicing with her pals in a casino, wearing a little black dress. As the soundtrack of Charli XCX’s “Unlock it” and Alice Deejay’s “Better Off Alone” plays, she is seen dancing.

“I don’t feel the need [to drink alcohol] because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school,” she shared. “There’s just this never-ending effect of, essentially, you know, pain and stress over those few drinks that didn’t really do much, you know?”

Opening Up

She talked about how drinking made her feel after a night out.

“I don’t feel the need because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school,” Hadid continued. “There’s just this never-ending effect of … pain and stress over those few drinks that didn’t really do much.”
