A video surfaced from Paris Fashion Week that took place earlier this month. The clip depicts Zendaya entering the fashion show in an LV tiger-print set. She walks into the show and sit in her front row seat. Soon after, Roach enters the venue and has a brief exchange with Zendaya. She then gestures to the row behind her and Roach takes his seat.

Looking Too Closely
Spectators took the small conversation and ran with it, deciding that there was some sort of animosity occurring between the two. These rumors got tangled up with the announcement that the stylist has decided to retire.
Roach did an interview with New York Magazine’s The Cut in which he dispelled the libelous rumors and explained what was actually taking place during the exchange.
“We left on time, but I don’t know if our driver went the wrong way, but we got stuck in traffic,” he explained. “The way we came in, it was a long walk actually to get your seat. It was a long walk. So it was a lot of anxiety, because Zendaya is really respectful and she doesn’t like people to have to wait on her, and so it was just anxiety.”
The event organizers were “shuffling us as fast as possible” to get everyone seated to start the show. Zendaya’s seat was the only one left empty in the front row.
The Gist Of It
“In my mind, my seat was next to her. So when I got there and it wasn’t, you know, it wasn’t a problem, but there was nobody to tell me where my actual seat was,” he continued. “And so the seat behind her, when you see her turn around and touch the seat, it wasn’t her telling me to sit there, it was her telling me like, ‘That’s Darnell’s seat,’ which is her assistant. I’m not gonna sit in Darnell’s seat.”
“And so I was standing there — I was really just kind of confused. And remember, we had just made a mad dash to get there, so it’s anxiety, like, you sweating. I got this suit on, the hair, and we hot, you know, I was trying to make it.”
The artist went on to explain how, without the time constraints, he and Zendaya always sit together. “That’s part of our relationship and our interaction, seeing the clothes together. And you know, the little cues, and little such, like, that’s the look.”
The hangers on are known for making up things as they go along for the sake of something to talk about, but it’s a relief to see the winning players in the game put the worst of it to rest.
