Instead, the two continue to take part in an intense battle over what seems like every last thing. Both small and large. And given their status in Hollywood, we are sure to hear about it.
The latest comes from Page Six, which reported that the “company founded by Jolie has filed a jaw-dropping $250 million lawsuit against her ex-husband claiming that he and a gang of cronies launched a devious campaign to ‘seize control’ of the French winery that they bought as a couple ‘in retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings’ and to ‘ensure… Jolie would never see a dime’ of its vast profits.”
The lawsuit also claims that Pitt has tried to keep Jolie silent on matters of their divorce. Precisely what may have led to it, per Page Six. It also states Pitt bought a swimming pool that cost more than a million bucks.
Angelina Jolie Hits Brad Pitt With $250 Million Lawsuit
Pitt, 58, and Jolie, 47, decided to end their marriage in 2019 after five years together. The couple shares six children, including some adopted, and the children are part of the ongoing tug-of-war.
The latest lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles, was brought forth by Nouvel, the company founded by Jolie to retain her stake in the winery in question.
“In retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings, Pitt embarked on a multi-faceted, years-long campaign to seize control of Chateau Miraval and appropriate the company’s assets for his benefit and that of his own companies and friends,” the suit reads. “Appointing himself the rightful owner of Chateau Miraval, his twin objectives were to usurp the value of Jolie’s company, Nouvel, and to obtain sole ownership of Chateau Miraval.”
Along with that, the suit alleges that Pitt “hatched and executed a plan to secretly move assets from Chateau Miraval… to companies owned by him and his friends, thereby devaluing Jolie’s interest.”
Pitt is said to be in good spirits despite the frustrations caused by his ex. He is currently overseeing his Plan B Entertainment production company and is starring in the movie Bullet Train. He will next portray John Gilbert in the silent-movie period drama Babylon, due out later this year. Along with that, Pitt served as executive producer for the soon-to-be released Marilyn Monroe biopic, Blonde.
“It’s wave after wave of attempts to hurt him,” a Pitt source told People of Jolie. “(Brad) has remained virtually completely silent other than to acknowledge things he could do better. He has remained silent on this issue because he knows that’s the best thing for his kids, what’s best for everybody. He has maintained that stance despite a never-ending barrage of attacks and attempts made to use the courts against him.”
