Estimated to bring in up to $200,000, the three-piece suit is being put up for bid by Julien’s Auctions as part of their “Hollywood: Classic and Contemporary” sale. Bidding started at $25,000 and is currently up to $60,000. So far, only two bids have been recorded.

Worn by Travolta as protagonist Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever (1977), the suit features “exaggerated peak lapels” that are “indicative of the disco era,” according to the listing. Costume designer Patrizia Von Brandenstein explained that the striking color of the all-white outfit was a conscious choice.

“Heroes from Sir Lancelot to Tom Mix wore white in the great contests to express purity and single-minded devotion to the task at hand. So, for me, white was the only choice for the suit,” she said.

The winning bidder will not only be taking home this unmistakable piece of film history, complete with signed letters of authenticity. Travolta superfans will be thrilled to know that the suit likely comes with an extra souvenir from the actor as well. We’re not talking about autographed pictures (also included in the listing). We’re talking about the Grease actor’s “perspiration stains.”

According to the auction website, John Travolta sweat profusely during his dance scenes in the polyester ensemble, so much that he had to switch to another identical suit when the previous one became drenched. Evidence of wear is still visible in some places.

During the auction, interested bidders will also have a chance to snag relics from classic film legends such as Joan Crawford and the Marx Brothers, as well as artifacts from more recent film franchises like the Harry Potter series.
