Any DC fan will know that Joker: Folie à Deux, a direct sequel to 2019’s R-rated smash hit, Joker, is currently being filmed with Lady Gaga starring as the legendary character Harley Quinn. According to a Redditor on r/DCEUleaks subreddit, Lady Gaga has been recently spotted recreating the infamous staircase dance scene from the first movie while on set.

According to the Reddit post, Lady Gaga and Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix were both spotted filming a heavy scene in the Bronx while in full make-up. Director Todd Phillips was also spotted. Gaga was reportedly screaming and singing as loud as can be while crew members worked desperately to shield the happenings. The scene in question featured a large group of police officers approaching Gaga while she belts out in song.
Intense Joker 2 Sequence
It is not clear what exactly Gaga was singing, but fans have reported that it was the song “A Couple of Swells” from Easter Parade. Twitter user @AMENARTPOP shared a video of what was witnessed from the set, accompanied by text that read, “lady gaga singing a couple of swells by fred astaire and judy garland on the set of joker 2 today.”
Twitter users shared more footage that was witnessed during the film shoot, including a shot of Phoenix in full character, disheveled and distraught. Twitter user @big_business shared the said video with the caption, “I can’t wait for this film.”
The original Reddit post stated that a picture was leaked from the sequence that was being filmed. The picture reportedly features Phoenix and Gaga in full makeup standing beside each other.
Joker: Folie à Deux, is currently set to be released in theaters on October 4, 2024. The sequel’s plot is currently under wraps, but it is speculated that the film will begin with Phoenix’s Joker locked up in a mental hospital where he will meet Gaga’s Harley Quinn, beginning a terrifying match made in hell. The film is also set to be a musical. In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, Joker: Folie à Deux stars Zazie Beetz, Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, and Harry Lawtey.
