Someday, someone may make a movie about the life of singer and entertainer Marie Osmond, and if so, she already knows who she wants to portray her.

“I think Selena Gomez would be amazing, only because she has been through a lot of the things that I’ve been through,” Osmond told E! News.

Osmond, 63, gained success as a solo artist, singing country and pop songs, as a teenager and while in her younger 20s during the 1970s and ’80s. Her brothers were part of the pop group the Osmonds, with brother Donny fronting the lineup. They also began as children and in their early teens.

Later, Donny and Marie co-hosted a fairly popular variety show.

Meanwhile, Gomez, 30, also rose to fame as a teenager a little more than a decade ago.

“I think it’s nice to have a child’s perspective as being an entertainer, because it’s very different,” Marie Osmond told E!, reiterating her desire to have Gomez play her in a biopic.

While being a child entertainer and one of the most famous people in the world has its drawbacks, Osmond said she doesn’t regret a second of it. She feels she missed out on nothing.

“I don’t look at life that way. I look at what’s a positive,” she said. “I like to dwell on that more than what I missed.”

As for reuniting with Donny, Marie joked it doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

“Has hell frozen over?” she asked, again, jokingly.

But she did indeed leave open the possibility.

“I never say never because we love each other,” she said. “We’re very supportive of each other.”
