Despite reports from actress and director Olivia Wilde that her ex Jason Sudeikis does not pay her child support, the two were spotted being quite friendly with one another at their 8-year-old son’s soccer game. The former couple was all smiles when they greeted each other and hugged on the field, before sitting on the grass together and chatting. Their son, Otis, shortly joined his parents, creating a joyous scene of a family reunited. It seems that Wilde and Sudeikis have attended several of Otis’ soccer games together as of late.

This occasion is a bit surprising, considering the recent revelation from Wilde that she pays “100% of the costs for the children’s care,” referring to Otis and their 6-year-old daughter Daisy. Wilde also claims that Sudeikis has a “significantly superior” income to her. Wilde did state that Sudiekes pays half of the children’s school tuition, but nothing else.
Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis’ Complicated Relationship
According to court documents, “Jason shares equal responsibility with Olivia for the support of their children, yet Olivia has borne the lion’s share of the expenses for their children since the pendency of this action.” Wilde is reportedly requesting $500,000 from her former fiance.
A representative for Sudeikis defended him, saying, “Olivia and Jason shared costs equally and fairly throughout their relationship, including everything related to the children. Jason took it upon himself to initiate the proceedings in the first place to ensure that the kids would be properly cared for by both parents based on the court deciding what is fair financially going forward.”
Considering the friendly demeanor the former couple share, it is possible that their financial issues are being worked out outside of the courts, but it is possible that they are only being cordial out of respect for their kids. Sudeikis, who currently stars in Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, was also spotted driving his daughter to a music lesson, indicating that he is present in his children’s lives as much as he can be.
