In response to a fan question on Watch What Happens Live, the Abbott Elementary actress gave host Andy Cohen a few behind-the-scenes details about her unrequited crush.
“He was one of my sexy dreamboat idols,” she revealed, according to Insider. “I had to pretend I didn’t have a crush on him, and I really did. When I first got around him, I blushed all the time.”
In the film, Dennis Quaid played a wealthy vineyard owner and divorced dad Nick Parker. Lisa Ann Walter got plenty of screen time with him as the single man’s nanny and right-hand-woman, Chessy.
Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix Both Smitten
Walter wasn’t the only one swooning over the actor on set. Elaine Hendrix, who played Quaid’s spoiled fiancé, Meredith, also found her co-star extremely attractive. However, neither of the women acted on their feelings at the time.
“Elaine’s my best friend. If she had made a move I would have known about it,” Walter stated. “I absolutely had a crush on him. She was very young so maybe he was crushing on her a little bit. But I had had a crush on him since his early days, and especially in ‘The Big Easy,’ and there were some great lines in that movie.”
According to the Shall We Dance star, there was one moment she shared with Quaid that she’d never forget.
“On the last day I shot with him, I said to him, ‘Okay, it’s our last day. You have to say a line for me.’ And he said, ‘From which movie?’ I said, ‘The Big Easy.’ And he goes, ‘Come here.’ And I leaned down and he whispered in my ear, ‘Your luck’s about to change, cher.'”
Recalling her response to the steamy exchange, the actress added, “I fell on the ground.”
