Woody Harrelson made his fifth appearance as host on Saturday Night Live, broadcasting live from Studio 8H. Due to this monumental moment, he officially made it into the Five-Timers Club, which he proudly mentioned during his opening monologue.

Harrelson joked about receiving the customary commemorative jacket that previous Five-Timers Club members have received but was disappointed when no jacket was in sight. Later on, he held out his arms again, hoping for the jacket but again received nothing, which he shrugged off with humor.

However, at the end of the show, Harrelson’s disappointment turned to quite a delight when Scarlett Johansson, who is married to SNL’s Colin Jost and is another member of the Five-Timers Club, presented him with the famous jacket. “I got you, baby!” Johansen said as she handed Harrelson the jacket.

Harrelson now joins the elite company of stars who have hosted SNL five times or more, including John Mulaney, Paul Rudd, and Melissa McCarthy.

Throughout the show, Harrelson acted in a range of skits, such as portraying a park-goer whose friend faints on a ride, and an inmate eagerly anticipating his release to reunite with his wife. The show also featured a segment where the cast parodied The Whale, in which actors who gained weight for their roles discovered that the studio had canceled the film.

The musical guest for the night was Jack White, who also made his fifth appearance on SNL. He had previously performed on the show back in 2020 when Bill Burr hosted. White performed two musical performances during the episode, first singing “Taking Me Back/Fear of the Dawn,” followed by “A Tip from You to Me.”
