After Hudson said how “beautiful” she finds the way that the cast of Call Me Kat “honors” the legacy of Jordan, Bialik opened up about the experience of learning the tragic news that Jordan had died. Bialik said, “We were all at work and waiting for him to show up at work, so it was very, very, very complicated to have the whole crew there and the whole cast.”
‘Call Me Kat’ Cast Remembers Leslie Jordan
Bialik continued, saying, “We were all very close, and people knew Leslie Jordan as Leslie Jordan, not necessarily just as the character he played on our show. He’s been in people’s lives, especially during COVID. He was in people’s Instagram feeds.”
On Call Me Kat, Tennesee-born Jordan played Phil, head baker at the cat cafe owned by the show’s titular character, who is played by Bialik. For upcoming episodes of Call Me Kat, Jack McBrayer is set to take on the role of Gideon, a new employee at the cafe. Gideon’s character will most likely fill the space left by Jordan, but the actor’s legacy will forever live on.
In addition to Call Me Kat, Jordan was known for starring in the shows Will and Grace, American Horror Story, and The Cool Kids. Jordan has also appeared in the films The Help and The United States vs. Billie Holiday. Before his death, Jordan was set to star in the film Strangers in a Strange Land. As of late, Jordan became a huge star on Instagram, resulting in the late actor amassing 5.8 million followers since 2020.
