The restaurant was founded in 1969 by David Thomas, who wanted to differentiate himself from other fast food places by offering ice cream Frosty’s and square burgers. He actually was inspired by his own daughter for not only the name but for the famous logo as well.

Wendy’s Goes Gray

Well now, they decided to change it in a good way. Wendy’s Canda tweeted this week they were going to change the hair color from red to gray, shocking fans. “A star is a star, regardless of hair color,” the chain tweeted. But, the meaning behind the change is quite sweet and touching.

Lisa LaFlamme recently revealed that she was fried from CTV due to her decision to let her hair turn gray rather than dye it. After the announcement of her exit, Bell Media said they decide to let her go based on “changing viewer habits.” But, apparently, Miachel Melling, head of CTV News, had repeatedly brought up the newscasters’ hair more than once. There was even a recording in a meeting asking who had approved of letting “Lisa’s hair go grey.”

Luckily, LaFlamme went on to accept new poison as media advisor with Jagmeet Singh. Singh is the leader of the New Decomcaritc Party in Canada. As far as Melling, well he announced he’s taking an absence fo leave from CTV. Because well, he’s probably morbidly embarrassed.

As expected, several Twitter users praised Wendy’s for their decision to support the news anchor. One user Tweeted, “Age, Color of hair should never be part of work at all. If you have grey hair but can do the job, no reason to fire someone unless that company wants to keep in the perfect image agenda. Wendy, I love the new grey just like i liked the red.”

Another one noted, “Kudos to Wendy’s for taking this stance. Lisa’s gray hair is the natural colour for aging adults. She has enough confidence in herself and didn’t need to dye it. She is one classy lady.”

Keep it up, Wendy’s. Your fans love you.
