The emotional Biden reciprocated Obama’s heartfelt speech, telling him that he’s never known another president to “have the decency, integrity and sense of other people’s needs like you.” He continued to praise the president, calling him a “remarkable man who did remarkable things,” and expressed his gratitude on being a part of Obama’s journey.
“Mr. President, this honor is not only well beyond what I deserve, but it’s a reflection of the extent and generosity of your spirit,” Biden said. “I don’t deserve this, but I know it came from the president’s heart. Mr. President, you creeped into our heart, you and your whole family, including Mom, and you occupy it.”

Lastly, Biden choked up while addressing his beloved friendship with Obama.
“Mr. President, I’m indebted to you. I’m indebted to your friendship. I’m indebted to your family,” he said. “You know as long as there is breath in me, I will be there for you, my whole family will be there for you, and I know it’s reciprocal. And I want to thank you so very, very much, all of you.”
